About Man-O-War
BEACH HAPPY is located on Man-O-War Cay in the Abaco region of the Bahamas. Man-O-War was settled by British Loyalists who left the American colonies after the U.S. Revolutionary War. Early residents farmed and fished; some were wreckers who salvaged vessels that were shipwrecked on the reefs. In the 1800's the island became well known for its boatbuilding. Albury Brothers Boats are still built on the island today.

Man-O-War is about 2.5 miles long but is fairly narrow - less than 100 yards wide in some locations. The island has a population of just over 200 full-time residents, plus about 150 part-time second homeowners. The island is well-known for being peaceful and family oriented.
